In France, a protester has been killed and more than 200 injured during demonstrations against the rising cost of fuel, which have increased by as much as 20 percent since the start of 2018.
The government has added so-called green taxes to try to lower air pollution as part of its environmental policy, but protesters say they unfairly punish people who need their cars.
