The war in Syria may be winding down but it is certainly not over.
In rebel-controlled Idlib, where a ceasefire is supposed to in place, instead there is an active front line and almost 200 civilians have been killed since the start of the year.
Inside government-controlled territory, there are still unaccountable security agencies and an absence of the rule of law – some of the very reasons Syrians rebelled in 2011.
But for Bashar al-Assad, the war has been won and some countries have already started to normalise relations with his government.
