Armenia: Macron inaugurates Aznavour Foundation in Yerevan

French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron arrived in Yerevan on Thursday, where they visited a cultural centre dedicated to the late French singer Charles Aznavour.

The French president met his Armenian counterpart Armen Sarkissian who also attended the opening ceremony ecorted by his wife Nouneh Sarkissian.

Macron also paid tribute to the memorial of the victims of the Armenian Genocide on the sidelines of his official visit to Yerevan for the 17th summit of La Francophonie.

French singer Charles Aznavour, who died on October 1 in Paris, was the son of Armenian migrants who immigrated to France, where he became one the most influential variete singer of all time.
