Thousands of Galatasaray fans made the journey from Istanbul to Bruges ahead of their side’s Champions League opener on Wednesday.
Supporters let off flares, smoke bombs and bird-scarers on their march from Markt Square to the evening’s early kick-off against Club Brugge at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
A large number of fans also made the trip from nearby Germany for the Group A opening fixture, many of whom will be seeing star signing Radamel Falcao in action.
“I guess it will be three Galatasaray and one Brugge. I’m expecting two goals minimum from our new transfer,” said Mustafa, who had travelled from Istanbul especially to see the Colombia striker.
Galatasaray face an uphill struggle to qualify from Group A, which along with Brugge, also contains Spanish giants Real Madrid and Neymar’s Paris Saint-Germain side.
