Hundreds of supporters of the Partido de los Trabajadores (The Workers Party, PT) and former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva took to the streets of the southern city of Curitiba, Wednesday, as the former president arrived to the federal justice court to stand trial over corruption charges for the second time.
SOT, Lindbergh Farias, Workers Party’s senator (Portuguese): “Wishing lots of strength to President Lula. The judge is not impartial – it does not matter what Lula will say, for judge Moro it doesn’t matter. We talk for the people. There have been mass of evidence of Geddel’s money, Temer’s money, as well as Rodrigo Rocha Loures’ and Aecio’s, but there is no proof about Lula. We are confident and I believe that the president [Lula] will show a good result and have a new opportunity to talk to the Brazilian people.”
