Chinese teenager Cen Xiaolin reflected on his incredible year in skipping during an interview at his training gym in Huadu, a northern suburb of Guangzhou, on Friday.

The 17-year-old broke his own world record at a competition in Shanghai recently, managing to jump the rope 228 times in 30 seconds.

That adds to five records broken as a member of the China team at the World Jump Rope Championship in Oslo earlier this year.

He also holds the record for the single rope endurance, managing a mind-boggling 1,141 skips in 3 minutes.

A demonstration showed how quickly Xiaolin is able to skip, with hands and feet disappearing into a blur.
