France: Former NF politician blames French govt. for Paris attack

Former National Front politician Farid Smahi was intercepted by police officers whilst shouting at and attempting to approach Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo following her visit to the Champs-Elysees in Paris, Friday.

“It’s your fault. Leave me. You are criminals. Leave me. It is the government that betrayed justice. They have to be expelled. It’s their fault. They are responsible. Not one single candidate spoke about the people that died in Nice or about the Bataclan” said the former regional councilor.

Smahi went on to say “And then they come for their parade here, while the policeman has lost his life, leaving a woman and a child. I, Farid, accuse all the governments. They are responsible for all these men that are violent with their women, and kill our women.”

Smahi joined the far-right political party in 1997 and was expelled in 2011. He is noted for publishing the book ‘Should the Arabs of France be burned?’

SOT, Farid Smahi, Former National Front politician (French): “It’s your fault. Leave me. You are criminals. Leave me. It is the government that betrayed justice. They have to be expelled. It’s their fault. They are responsible. Not one single candidate spoke about the people that died in Nice or about the Bataclan. And they continue [missing translation] … I am a Muslim. I am not anymore. I am ashamed. You need to have all the Ministers of the Interiors on the line. It’s an embarrassment. J’accuse, as said a French writer. And then they come for their parade here, while the policeman has lost his life, leaving a woman and a child. I, Farid, accuse all the governments. They are responsible for all these men that are violent with their women, and kill our women.”
