Hundreds of public health care workers took to the streets of Paris on Tuesday, to denounce what they see as the sub-par state of the French health care system.
Protesters with banners and signs marched through the streets of the French capital and headed to the Ministry of Health while chanting anti-Macron slogans.
According to Eric Tricot, a nurse specialising in anaesthesia, public workers leave work with a “feeling of bitterness for not having done their job properly.”
“It is shameful,” he added.
“We are in an ultra-liberal system and it is completely out of the ordinary,” he continued.
Citing health care budget cuts, Tricot said that “it is the public hospital that is attacked,” adding “it’s a health disaster, it’s a humanitarian disaster, I’ll go even further, and I assume, it’s even a crime against humanity!”
