Germany: Bundestag discuss Cologne NYE sex attacks

Germany’s Bundestag held a press conference in Berlin on Monday regarding the ongoing investigation being held over a series of alleged sex attacks in Cologne on New Year’s Eve.

SOT, Dr. Philip Scholz, spokesperson of the Interior Ministry (German): “And together with the Interior Ministry we will check whether we have enough capabilities to sent back all the criminals. At the moment the investigation is being conducted and this investigation is still underway. For this very moment I am not able to provide you with any results. The results will be presented when they will be ready.”

SOT, Dr. Philip Scholz, spokesperson of the Interior Ministry (German): “Regarding question whether laws [on sexual assaults] would be toughened after events in Cologne and other places, unfortunately, I can not provide you with the full information to the current moment because I am not aware how the talks are being conducted and what exactly has happened.”
