Germany: Greens’ lead candidate Ska Keller votes in EU parliamentary election

The Green parties’ leading candidate for the presidency of the European Commission, Ska Keller cast her ballot in the EU parliamentary election in Berlin on Sunday. She said hopes were high that her vision of climate protection will be supported by large numbers of voters.

“I think it’s really important that we get a strong voice for change, for climate protection as well as for the protection of biodiversity of the natural resources that we get a strong voice for bringing the European Union closer together, having a social European Union as well as strengthening democracy and the rule of law all over the European Union”, said Keller at the polling station.

Keller first became a member of the European parliament in 2009 at the age of 27. For the last two and a half years she has been the leader of the Greens/EFA parliamentary group.
