Hundreds of court workers were forced to evacuate after a district court in the eastern German city of Potsdam after a bomb scare on Friday.

Potsdam District Court is one of several courts around the country to receive a bomb threat on Thursday night, warning that an explosion would be detonated on Friday. Courts in Magdeburg, Wiesbaden, Erfurt, Kiel and Hamburg also received threats of an attack.

Some 200 workers were evacuated as the German Federal Police and Berlin Police searched the Potsdam District Court and its surroundings with explosive-detection dogs. At 12.45pm local time (11.45 GMT), the police gave the all-clear for the building to be re-entered after no explosives were found.
