Germany: Saudi Arabia ‘will fight’ in WC despite defeat in Germany friendly – Pizzi

Germany defeated Saudi Arabia 2 to 1 on Friday, during a warm-up pre-World Cup game in Leverkusen.

Coach of Saudi Arabia national football team Juan Antonio Pizzi expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance despite the defeat saying, “we leave satisfied because we could compete against one of the best teams in the world.”

SOT, Juan Antonio Pizzi, Coach of Saudi Arabia national football team (Spanish): “We leave satisfied because we could compete against one of the best teams in the world. Especially during the second part, in which we even had a good ball possession, we even generated some [tense] situations and we could have even tied, against a team that has a lot of varieties, a lot of aggressiveness, power, and that is one of the candidates to win the world cup.”

SOT, Juan Antonio Pizzi, Coach of Saudi Arabia national football team (Spanish): “A part from today’s game, we had a very good evolution in the past months. For the past 20 days, we played against Italy, Peru and now Germany, and even if we didn’t have good results in any of the games, our evolution is very good, so we go to the World Cup with a lot of confidence, and we will fight.”
