Hong Kong protesters have once again filled the streets on the 11th straight weekend of mass pro-democracy protests. Despite heavy rainfall, organizers say 1.7 million people – or nearly a quarter of Hong Kong’s population – turned out to show their support for local rule. Protesters also tried to mark a change from recent violence by rallying peacefully – and stressed their movement was peaceful, with little violence reported and no rubber bullets or tear gas used by police.
