Acclaimed Indian sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik paid tribute to the 49 victims of the Christchurch shootings with a sculpture at Puri Beach, in the Indian State of Odisha, on Friday.
Pattnaik, who has won a number of international awards for his work, wanted to send a message of solidarity to those affected by the attack.
Gunmen opened fire outside the Masjid Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch, and the nearby Linwood Islamic Centre, killing 49 and wounding 48 on Friday.
The main suspect, 28-year-old Australian Brenton Tarrant, appeared in court on Saturday charged with murder. Two more individuals have been arrested in connection with the attack.
