The former Marseille striker, Mario Balotelli, has formally joined his new side Brescia Calcio on Monday where he attended a press conference and received his new teams colours in Brescia, northern Italy.

“The president [Massimo Cellino owner of Brescia] and I met in England a long time ago. I have come to this decision to join Brescia through Mino [Mino Raiola, Mario Balotelli’s agent] We met, we talked… in the end it was not so hard to choose Brescia,” Balotelli told reporters.

The Italian striker grew up in Concesio on the outskirts of Brescia.

The new Italian Serie A league season begins on Sunday where Brescia are set to play Cagliari. Balotelli will sit out the match as he is currently serving a four-match ban after getting a red card during his last game for Marseille.
