Kazakhstan: Cosmonauts leave hospital bound for Russia

Russian cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin and US astronaut Nick Hague left the hospital at Kazakhstan’s Baikonur Cosmodrome bound for Russia early on Friday morning.

Ovchinin and Hague were forced to make an emergency landing following the failure of a booster on the Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft shortly after launch.

Their capsule is believed to have landed 25 kilometres (15.5 miles) away from the city of Zhezqazghan in central Kazakhstan. They were picked up by a search and rescue team and returned to Baikonur.

They were originally scheduled to return to Earth in April 2019.
