WBO Welterweight Champion Terrence Crawford (34-0) and contender Amir Khan (33-4) take a step on the scales in New York City on Friday, April 19, for the official weigh-ins ahead of their upcoming title bout on Saturday.
Amir Khan is a former unified light-welterweight world champion, having held the WBA title from 2009 to 2012, and the IBF title in 2011.Between 2017 and 2018, Khan competed in the seventeenth series of ITV’s survival reality television game “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”.
He was the highest-paid contestant in the history of the show, and as a result his popularity in the UK skyrocketed.
He returned to the ring after a year away from boxing with back-to-back wins over Phil Lo Greco and Samuel Vargas. He now faces American southpaw Terrence ‘Bud’ Crawford, who is unbeaten after 34 professional fights. A three-weight world champion, Crawford is seen as one of the pound-for-pound greats of the sport.
