Multilateral peace talks on Afghanistan are taking place in Moscow on Friday, November 9.
A delegation representing the Taliban is expected to join the talks. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, this will be the first time that a delegation from the Taliban’s Doha-based political office will be present at such a high-level international meeting.
Representatives from 12 countries, including Iran, Pakistan, China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, are among the expected participants of the talks. The US has reportedly declined the invitation.
