Ruptly is live outside the Central Office for the fight against corruption and financial and fiscal offenses (OCLCIFF) in Nanterre, France, on Tuesday, June 18, where the former UEFA President Michel Platini has reportedly been taken in custody over the awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar.
He was reportedly arrested as part of an investigation into alleged corruption surrounding the awarding of the hosting rights to Qatar.
Platini was banned by the FIFA Ethics Committee in 2015 after he was elected eight years earlier.
Qatar was named host of the World Cup in December 2010.
