Merkel-Macron meeting: Leaders urge EU states to agree 750-billion euro recovery fund

The two leaders called for a “strong” and “efficient” coronavirus recovery fund for the European Union. The Franco-German pair urged the 27 member states to seal a deal next month, with Macron addressing his words especially to the so-called “Frugal Four” countries – Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden – who initially opposed the measure.
