A Dutch court has ruled that the Netherlands must help repatriate children of women who joined the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS) group in Syria, but the mothers themselves need not be taken back.
This is regarding the existence of 23 ISIL women who are of Dutch nationality and their 56 children under the age of 12, many of whom were born in the al-Hol camp in northern Syria.
But public opinion in the Netherlands is overwhelmingly not in favour of bringing the group’s members back.
