The newly selected coach for Spain, Fernando Hierro, held a press conference in Krasnodar on Wednesday, June 13, only a few hours after the Spanish Football Federation confirmed him as replacement following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui as manager.

The decision was announced a day after Lopetegui was confirmed as succeeding Zinedine Zidane as new head coach of Real Madrid. Former Real Madrid player, Hierro won 89 caps for Spain as a player and served as Real Madrid assistant manager before taking charge of Oviedo for one season.
