CEO of the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 (F1) team Toto Wolff said that he did not enjoy this season’s battle at a FIA press conference in St. Petersburg, Friday.
“When asked by a journalist if he enjoyed this year’s battle, Wolff said, “No, I did not enjoy the battle. While you are in the battle, it’s really tough. You have moments when you are doing well, and you think the momentum is on your side, and then it swings the other way round.”
Driver for the F1 Sauber team, Kimi Raikkonen, who also took part in the press conference, shared his memories of going to Russia.
“We were in, I think it’s called Sosnovy Bor doing ice karting – it’s like on a speedway rules and speedway track and no brakes,” said Raikkonen, adding that he enjoyed the time there.
Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 driver and a five-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton was also seen at the FIA Gala in St. Petersburg State Phiharmonic Hall.
This year’s FIA’s General Assembly as well as the end-of-season gala is held in St. Petersburg on December 3-7.
