Russia: Lebanese President aims to improve economic ties with Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in the Middle East and economic relations during bilateral talks with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, in Sochi, on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the Russian leader emphasised that “will work upon the positive development of our bilateral and interstate relations.”

Putin added, “Unfortunately, the volume of trade is still small, but the growth is impressive,” noting an one-and-one-half-fold increase which he hopes to maintain.

The Prime Minister of Lebanon pointed out that “fortunately, the level of political contacts between our countries is excellent, so we would like to bring our economic ties to this level.”
