Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny was sentenced to 30 days in jail for helping stage unauthorised protests on May 5. Moscow’s Tverskoy Court issued the verdict on Tuesday.
The anti-Putin protests were held ahead of the Russian leader’s inauguration as president for a fourth term.
Navalny himself was detained by police shortly after his arrival at a protest in Moscow.
