Venezuelan ambassador to Russia Carlos Faria said that the Venezuelan economy incurred losses of around 130 billion dollars in the period from 2015-2018 as a result of sanctions imposed by the US. He made the comment in Moscow on Tuesday.

“Venezuela has 5.47 billion dollars frozen in international banks. Five billion dollars, this is a huge amount of money,” he said, adding that if the country had these funds at its disposal it would spend them on medicine, raw materials and industrial equipment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Department of Information and Media has begun a series of meetings with ambassadors from different countries to Russia.
