Slovakia: Swedish hockey team plays footy before Latvia clash at IIHF World Champs

Swedish national ice hockey team players could be seen playing football on Monday in Bratislava, ahead of their sixth match at the 2019 IIHF World Championship against Latvia.

Taking advantage of a break in rainy weather, that in Bratislava these days, Patrik Hornqvist, John Klingberg, Alexander Wennberg and teammates took to the training pitch behind Ondrej Nepela Arena to warm up before the game against their neighbours from across the Baltic.

On Tuesday night the ‘Tre Kronor’ or ‘Three Crowns,’ who are the two-times defending world champions, will take on Russia, who are currently leaders of Group B with six consecutive wins on the tournament, to decide who will qualify to the quarterfinals from first position.

Earlier in the day Russian, Swiss and Italian hockey players were seen playing football on the same pitch.
