The ice hockey teams of the US and Great Britain faced each other in Kosice during the IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship in Slovakia on Wednesday, resulting in a 6-3 victory for the American team.

Great Britain suffered their fourth loss in Group A but managed to produce an improved performance after being battered by Denmark 9-0 on Tuesday.

The Captain of team USA, Patrick Kane, said the win was key but improvements could be made to his side’s performance.

“Probably not the game we wanted but we got the win and that’s the most important thing”, Kane said.

The 2019 IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship is being held in Slovakia from May 10 to 26, with matches being played in two host cities: Bratislava and Kosice.
