Team USA’s Adam Rippon said at a press conference in PyeongChang on Tuesday: “I didn’t get where I am for being gay, I got here for working really hard.” He has made history by becoming the first assumedly gay man hailing from the US to win a medal in a Winter Olympics, when he won the bronze for free skating.
