Thousands of civilians continued to flee the Hama countryside and head towards the north of Syria on Tuesday, amid the intense fighting in the country’s northwest.
Footage filmed on Tuesday shows internally displaced persons (IDPs) at the Atma Camp near the Syria-Turkey border, as well as others who fled the fighting seeking refuge in the villages of Hizano and Agrabat.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), more than 164,000 people are believed to have fled to northern and eastern Idlib Governorate between April 29 and May 9 to escape the fighting.
Some 16 schools, 15 health facilities and three IDP settlements have reportedly been affected by the fighting in the region.
