Hundreds of Turkish women staged a protest in Istanbul on Sunday, singing the Chilean feminist song “The rapist is you,” in protest against sexual violence and femicide in the country.

Footage shows hundreds of protesters performing the song, while wearing purple gloves.

On Sunday, Turkish female lawmakers also staged a ‘The rapist is you’ action in parliament to oppose the government’s lack of action against gender-based violence in the country.

The song, which was created by the Chilean feminist collective Las Tesis, was reportedly first performed during a flash mob in the Chilean city of Valparaiso in November.

Since then, similar protests have been held across the world, including Germany, Spain, France, Mexico and Colombia, among others.
