UAE: French Rafale jets loaded with SCALP missiles strike ISIS targets

French Rafale aircraft hit an industrial site of the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) near the city of Aleppo, after taking off from the United Arab Emirates airbase of Al Dhafra, on Saturday, as part of the Chammal Operation.

The four Rafale aircraft equipped with the SCALP (long range cruise autonomous system) missiles took off from the United Arab Emirates airbase on Saturday overnight. The French aircraft returned to the airbase after successfully targeting the militant site that is believed to have been used as a makeshift rocket manufacturing plant and weapons storage facility.
