UK: National Security Council meets before PM May’s nerve agent announcement

British Prime Minister Theresa May chaired a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) to discuss information about the nerve agent attack against a former Russian spy and his daughter at 10 Downing Street in London on Monday.

After meeting with senior ministers and intelligence and military chiefs, the PM will make a statement to Members of Parliament in the House of Commons.

Former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found unconscious after a nerve agent attack. They remain in a critical but stable condition in Salisbury district hospital.
