The recently selected UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson arrived at the Conservative Party Campaign headquarters in London, on Tuesday, to meet with party chairman Brandon Lewis.
Former Foreign Secretary Johnson defeated rival candidate Jeremy Hunt by nearly two votes to one on Tuesday. Almost 160,000 Conservative party members voted in the last two and a half weeks to choose a new successor to Theresa May who resigned as Prime Minister on June 7 after her Brexit proposals were rejected.
Johnson was seen as a favorite throughout the contest but several UK government officials have already resigned saying they refuse to work with his government.
He will assume the position of Prime Minister on Wednesday after May formerly tenders her resignation to the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
