At least one activist was arrested in London on Friday, as the environmentalist group Extinction Rebellion’s boat, which occupied London’s Oxford Circus for the past five days, was dismantled and towed away by police.

Protesters quickly took to Oxford Circus and began chanting, while reports say that the police are yet to enforce Section 14 on the large groups.

Members of the group still remain camped in at Parliament Square, Marble Arch and Waterloo Bridge.

Friday’s protest coincides with a week of action by the group across the capital to demand governmental action to combat climate change.

Since Monday, key landmarks across London have been targeted by protesters, reportedly affecting 500,000 people and resulting in the diversion of 55 bus routes.

According to reports, more than 300 people have been arrested since the protests started.
