Ukraine: Counter-protesters arrested at LGBT march in Kiev

Activists marched through Kiev on Sunday to protest in support of LGBT rights in Ukraine. The demonstration, which was accompanied by a large police presence, was met by a counter-protest. In late May, the head of the press service of the ‘Right Sector,’ Artem Skoropadsky, reportedly called for his party’s supporters to disrupt the march.

LGBT protesters carried signs with slogans such as “your rights, our fight” and “love is equal” while one counter-demonstrator was seen with a sign reading “I’m against gay propaganda in Ukraine.”
