At least 2,000 cars joined a protest caravan through Oakland on Sunday, as drivers demonstrated their anger over the George Floyd killing.

Protesters banged pots and pans, honked their horns, and held up home-made signs from inside their vehicles.

The protest, which was intended to respect coronavirus social distancing guidelines, was also joined by pedestrians and cyclists.

Protests and demonstrations have taken place across the US in reaction to Floyd’s death, with riots and looting also occurring in some areas, including Minneapolis.

Four officers involved in the incident have since been fired. The officer who knelt on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter on Friday.
