The power struggle between two presidents plays out, there is a harsh reality that faces the Venezuelan people. Rampant hyperinflation. Power shortages. Food shortages. And destitution in the poorest neighbourhoods. Families are skipping meals and losing weight – unable to afford even the most basic foods. Meanwhile, tonnes of food and medical aid are blocked at the Colombian border by troops loyal to President Maduro.
