What lies in store for Malta’s Prime Minister Muscat? | DW News

Maltese prosecutors have charged Yorgen Fenech, who is one of Malta’s wealthiest people, as an accomplice to the murder of investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. Fenech pleaded ‘not guilty’ to his alleged involvement in Galizia’s death. Police arrested him ten days ago while he was trying to leave Malta on his luxury yacht. Daphne Caruana Galizia was investigating government corruption when she was killed in a car bomb attack two years ago. Protesters have demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat over the affair, suspecting that he and his former Chief of Staff, Keith Schembri, are involved in the murder.
