What’s happening at the NATO Summit in London? | DW News
The NATO summit in London is off to a turbulent start. Donald Trump lashed out at French President Emmanuel Macron, calling Macron’s “brain dead” NATO remarks “nasty,” adding that he could see Paris leaving the alliance. The remarks set the tone for what is expected to be another tense summit among NATO allies. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization emerged as a Western alliance during the Cold War in response to fears of Soviet aggression. Now more than 70 years old, the organization is coming under increasing strain.
