Millions of voters in Istanbul return to the polls today to cast their ballots for the second time in a rerun of the city’s mayoral election. Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s governing AK party is trying to win back control of Turkey’s largest city with their candidate Binali Yildirim. But Ekrem Imamoglu of the opposition CHP narrowly won the first election. The fresh election is taking place after Turkey’s top electoral authority annulled the results of the first vote following appeals by Erdogan’s governing AK party.
