Members of the Armenian community in Australia marched through Sydney on Saturday in support of their homeland in the conflict with Azerbaijan over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Police allowed only 500 people to take part in the demonstration due to COVID-19 restrictions with many others joining the rally in their cars.
“We’ve seen this movie play out before and we are calling for the international community starting with Australia to stand up for things Australia says it believes in – democracy, human rights, against ethnic cleansing, against dictatorships,” said Haig Kayserian, Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of Australia.
