Dozens gathered outside the electoral court in La Paz, on Monday, to denounce the presidential elections being postponed for the second time, from September 6 to October 18, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Protesters rallied in rejection of the decision of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal to delay the elections on the grounds of the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the protesters, Marco Antonio Mendoza, said that “people are demonstrating, taking to the streets and calling for elections now, because we are seeing the inability of this self-appointed president, who is bankrupting this country.”

The elections were originally set for May but were rescheduled to September 6, following the coronavirus-induced lockdown.
