The central Chinese city of Wuhan upgraded its emergency flood response to Level II from Level III, as rain and thunderstorms battered areas of the city, Monday.
The aftermath of the disaster leaving streets and shops flooded, vehicles struggling to drive, and local residents scrambling to save their properties could be seen in the city streets.
For weeks China has been suffering from intense seasonal rains and thunderstorms which has caused destruction across southern part of the country with around 15 million residents affected and more than 100 dead or missing.
