A fire broke out in front of Berlin’s vacated Liebig34 squat Wednesday evening, less than two weeks after the building was evicted by police.

According to the fire department, building material and rubble from the house caught fire for unexplained reasons.

On Thursday, the burnt remains of building material could be seen outside the building.

According to initial reports, nobody was injured in the blaze. Neighbouring buildings were also reportedly not damaged by the fire.

On September 15, it was announced that the people residing at the so-called Liebig34 anarchist-queer-feminist collective housing project would be evicted. In response, numerous left-wing groups called for various demonstrations against the expulsion on October 9.
