Drought-hit farmers in the Mexican state of Chihuahua have seized control of La Boquilla dam, saying they want to prevent a water payment being made to the United States.
Under a 1944 treaty, Mexico and the US are obligated to share water found along the border between the two nations.
But farmers say they need the resource for their crops.
