Patrick Crusius, the 21-year-old man accused of carrying out the El-Paso Shooting that killed 22 people pleaded “not guilty” in his first court appearance at the El Paso Court Detention Facility on Thursday.
After swearing in, Patrick Crusius was charged with capital murder of multiple persons. He waived the reading of his indictment and made his plea, ending the initial hearing, which lasted less than three minutes.
A new hearing was scheduled to take place on November 7. If convicted, Crusius will reportedly face the death penalty.
On August 3, 22 people were killed and two dozen were injured after Crusius allegedly opened fire at a Walmart store inside the Cielo Vista Mall, the largest shopping centre in El Paso, Texas.
