USA: Ex-Trump aid Roger Stone speaks after pleading Fifth in Russia probe

Former Donald Trump’s campaign adviser Roger Stone defended his decision to plead the Fifth Amendment and not testify before Robert Mueller’s probe into alleged Russian involvement in 2016 US presidential election, at the American Priority Conference in Washington DC on Thursday.

“I have elected to invoke my Fifth Amendment right when it comes to the witch-hunt being conducted by the Senate Intelligence and the Senate Judiciary committees” declared Stone. “I will not testify unless I am allowed to testify in public so the American people can hear every word.”

Stone recently rejected a Democratic request for further congressional testimony before the Department of Justice’s special counsel over his possible role in alleged collusion between Russia and current US President Donald Trump’s election campaign back in 2016.
